If you’re someone who is health-conscious and wants to run longer miles
You’re in the right place at the right time.
This article will provide you with tips for running longer, and I also want to share some personal experiences about how I run longer miles.
Let’s get into it!
MY EXPERIENCE
I have been running every day (except Friday and Saturday) for four years
I started out very small (0.5 miles). Now I can run 7 miles without any breaks.
It may not sound long to most people, but hey, come on, I am always persistent.
I will hit 20 miles per day.
Just give me some time.
TIPS FOR RUNNING LONG DISTANCE
TIP 1: Preparation Before Running
Before running
Try to do some freestyle exercises, drink a little water, perhaps walk around a bit too
Start off easy.
Try to focus your mind.
If you like music while running, turn it on.
Set the mood for running.
TIP 2: Consistency
When you’re trying to run longer distances
Do it every day.
Consistency is the key.
Try to level up one day at a time.
First, set goals for 1 mile, then for 2 miles, and so on.
Don’t try to rush the process of leveling up.
Trust the process.
Make a plan and schedule for running and stick to it.
TIP 3: Pay Attention to Your Pace
While running for long distances, try to pay attention to your pace.
If you feel like starting off with a fast pace, do it.
When the time comes that you’re feeling to slow down in the middle of running, no worries.
You can do a mixture of running and walking at the same time to accumulate longer miles.
TIP 4: The Little Voice
Our mind just keeps talking to us. In the time of running
Your mind may encourage you to stop and convince you that it was a bad idea to run longer miles.
Don’t listen to it.
Counter hit your mind’s voice with the reasons for why you should run longer miles.
The point is to be mentally prepared for a longer run.
TIP 5: After Running
After running, take time to sit down or walk very slowly.
Give yourself time to cool off your body and your heart to regain the normal pace.
Drink fluids.
And congratulate yourself for the long distance running (it’s important)
FINAL THOUGHT
Running becomes easy when you run daily.
So, make a schedule.
Commit to yourself.
Let’s run for miles!
