If you are the one who is earning for yourself, trying to stay fit but finding it very challenging to find time for a walking exercise, it is understandable.
I have been there!
When I was doing 4 tuitions to support myself while attending university, my body was out of shape.
If someone reached out to me with a proposal, I would say yes while sacrificing my time for walking exercise.
In this article, I want to share some of my experiences, tips, and talk about
How I’ve been able to find time for walking exercise even when I was very busy.
Let’s get into it!
MY EXPERIENCE
In my life, I was very attentive while I was a university student,
Although back then I had to earn my own living, take care of my health, and also maintain academic grades.
After every day’s busy schedule of varsity classes and doing 4 tuitions
I had little to no time left for walking exercise.
But then, I started to make time for walking exercise, keeping promises, and made my friend accountable for my walking exercise every day.
IT IS ABOUT MAKING THE TIME NOT FINDING IT
Have you ever heard about the saving habit that first saves your money then spend it?
It goes for the walking exercise too.
After analyzing your daily schedule, make a fixed time for walking exercise and stick to it.
A better way is to be accountable to one of your close friends/family members/relatives.
It goes like this: After fixing the time for walking exercise, tell your friends/family members/relatives that you are going for a walking exercise.
Now you’re accountable to them, and now it is more likely that you will go for the walking exercise.
INCORPORATING WALKING EXERCISE INTO EVERYDAY ACTIVITY
The best way to keep walking exercise in a busy schedule is to incorporate walking into the everyday work that you do.
For example
You can take stairs, of course, when it is a small building.
You can take a work break with your colleague and walk to the nearby coffee shop.
Instead of pouring coffee in the office by yourself
While brainstorming with your colleague, walk, talk, and think (my favorite).
TIPS TO FIND TIME FOR WALKING EXERCISE IN A BUSY SCHEDULE
Okay, until now I’ve talked about my experiences from a particular perspective, but there are actually more ways to find time for walking exercise in a busy schedule. Think about which one(s) suit you the best.
- TIPS 1: Utilize short exercise
The best way for a short exercise is following the timer rule.
Pick up your phone and set the timer according to the free time in your hand.
Even for 1 minute.
Hit go!
- TIPS 2: Save time through online shopping
This is the modern solution to save time for the things that are important to you.
Instead of going to the supermarket
Shop online with home delivery.
It will save your time and will help to keep your walking exercise habit going with the lifelong benefit of a fit body.
- TIPS 3: Find a walk friend
We all have a friend(s) who is the star of the group.
They are funny, chatty, with a big heart.
Ask them to go for a walk while they keep their story going.
Trust me, that bonding time is nothing but very exceptional.
But if you are more comfortable with yourself, that will work too.
Pick up the phone, put on the headphones, and turn on the music.
Let the wonder keep going!
FINAL THOUGHT
Nowadays, it is very easy to keep yourself busy while ignoring good practices.
It is understandable that we need money to earn, and for that, we keep ourselves busy.
But it is also important to take care of our health, find time to do light walking exercise.
Because we don’t want to be sick and then buy just medicine with money.
So, making time to keep the walking exercise going is…
WORTH IT!
